Promoting Canadian Oats

The Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a $3-billion, five-year multilateral agreement that went into effect on April 1, 2018. Under this agreement, the governments of Canada and Manitoba are contributing $176 million over five years to fund a cost-shared, made-in-Manitoba program called Ag Action Manitoba.

The Ag Action Manitoba Program for Farmers

The Ag Action Manitoba Program for Farmers supports the growth and sustainability of primary agriculture in Manitoba. This program has been specifically developed to meet the needs of Manitoba farmers, industry organizations, agri-processors, researchers and industry service providers, and will serve a larger pool of clients than the previous funding agreement.

Ag Action Manitoba for Farmers has four specific activities:

  • Distribution and Marketing Alliances
  • Training and Consulting
  • Assurance
  • Research and Innovation

Whether you are new to farming or have been in the business for a long time, Ag Action Manitoba offers practical and flexible activities to help farmers reach their farm business goals. With this program, farmers can:

  • learn new skills
  • harness new technologies
  • develop new products
  • find new markets
  • add value to a product
  • increase production
  • continue to farm sustainably
  • maintain public trust
