Alberta Oat Growers Commission Regulations Moving Forward

At the 2021 AOGC AGM, In the June Oat Scoop newsletter and on the POGA website, producers were informed about the mandatory regulatory review of the Alberta Oat Growers Commission’s (AOGC) regulations. As part of the process, input was requested from eligible producers on proposed amendments to the Alberta Oat Growers Commission Plan Regulation and a five-year expiry extension date to the Alberta Oat Growers Commission Regulation. In addition to the mandatory regulatory review, producers were requested to provide feedback on the conceptual approval to adopt bylaws. Based on feedback, the AOGC board is moving forward with bylaws and the proposed amendments. Updates will be posted at poga.ca later this fall.

The proposed regulations and bylaws will be brought forward for final approval at the AOGC annual general meeting scheduled for Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Westin Hotel in Edmonton. Please check the website for updated information as it becomes available.
