The main objectives for this project are to demonstrate suitable Nitrogen rates of new oat varieties with high yield potentila in different soil and climatic zones within the province; and, to demonstrate, to local oat growers, new varieties that are available to increase adoption of new oat genetics.
Oat varieties used are : Camden (the check variety), CDC Anson and AAC Neville. The project is carried out at the following Saskatchewan Agri-Arm sites: Northeast Agriculture Research Foundation (NARF in Melfort), Western Applied Research Corporation (WARC in Scott), Indian Head Agricultural Research Foundation (IHARF in Indian Head), and East Central Research Foundation (ECRF in Yorkton).
